upcycled hat from coffee sacks

"Traditional Cuban coffee roasters' Trilby hat, beautifully handmade in New Zealand from upcycled Hessian coffee sacks. Each tailored hat is an original, patterns vary from hat to hat."

Story
"Roughly 140 tonnes of coffee are roasted in New Zealand every week. Our national addiction has led Ataahua to work with various coffee houses around the country, transforming their vast amounts of coffee sacks into items of beauty and sophistication.

Ataahua (Maori for Beautiful) is a Wellington based design company that produces unique linen products using contemporary pacific designs and quality craftsmanship. Founder/owner/designer Bernadette Casey marries Pacific and Western designs that reflect the unique beauty of our heritage and environment."
