Daily Inspiration: 22.11.2010

Having talked about this big H&M and Lanvin love a lot, there was no choice but picking H&M's auction on web as daily inspiration.

"FAQ
What is the Lanvin for H&M Auction?
Artistic Director Alber Elbaz of Lanvin has customized unique haute couture looks from the Lanvin for H&M collection. The looks were revealed at a fashion show in New York and are being auctioned exclusively at this site. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to UNICEF, as part of H&M’s “All for Children” project.
What is the H&M and UNICEF’s “All for Children” project?
All for Children is a five-year initiative supported by a 4.5 million USD donation from H&M and run by UNICEF. The project started in 2009 and focuses on protecting the rights of children in cotton producing areas in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. The goal is to get children out of work and into school and improve access to health and nutrition care. The All for Children project will focus its efforts on the cotton producing districts of Salem and Dharmapuri, where around 1.2 million children live. The two districts have a history of child labour due to a variety of factors such as poverty, lack of education and low awareness of children’s rights."
Let's hope that is a sincere movement full of social responsibility from H&M, the brand that makes a major amount of its production in India just because of the cheap production due to low labor costs.
