Lanvin's designer for Acne Jeans for fall 2008

Lanvin's designer Alber Elbaz, decided to use his couture skills on jeans designs. Designer's collaboration with downtown denim brand from Sweeden might shock or surprise some of gown lovers, but anyway this shows how strong share denim gets from the fashion world.

The collection is different than regular denimb brand collections though. It bridges the gap between casual and to much washed denim styles and the city chicness. It reinvents classic tuxedos, shirt dresses, and trenches making both denim and formal city look lovers satisfied.

Resort 2009

It's getting pretty complicated, I agree...While we are still shopping for this summer, designers give inputs about coming fall and winter. And it's still not enough, because in the meantime Resort 2009 collections are being showed and presented. It's because fashion is moving faster than ever. Two collections a year don't work anymore, consumer world demands more and more, or it's just the opposite, fashion brands supply more and more...

Resort season continues to be a force in the fashion world, therefore each big label is putting enough effort on creating a strong resort collection. Here are some picks:

John Galliano:

John Galliano's resort 2009 collection is a mix of street chic with glamour.

Calvin Klein:

Typical minimalist style of Calvin Klein with muted neutral colors such as White and beige. This collection is more for city streets instead of beach sides.

Jill Stuart

For resort, Jill Stuart envisioned a girl “strolling in an English garden, [by] the Seine river or eating gelato in Florence.” I really liked her resort collection which has a fresh and girlish style.

Micheal Kors

“If Tony Duquette and Babe Paley had a baby, this is their girl,” said Michael Kors during his intimate showroom presentation. Ethnic inspired styles and jewellery, retro swimsuits, and tie-dye...This collection will surely be hit next year in resorts.

Monochrome look in fall 2008

While we are still free to wear as colorful as possible-trend wise, we just have to enjoy this freedom. Coming fall, we might have to spend more time in dressing from head to toe. With an aim of creating a pure look, a monochromatic effect occured in the catwalks. That's why stockings and knee boots play such an important role coming season.
