Funeral Fashion Editorials - YSL

Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest fashion designers in history, died at his home in Paris at 71 after a long, undisclosed illness.
The August 2008 issue of Vogue Italia pays homage to the late Yves Saint Laurent with a tribute cover story entitled, “Silent.” The black and wtite photos are shot by Steven Meisel. I think that it is the one of the best vogue italia editorial in a long time. Look at the last shot carefully! I am sure that you can feel the sadness.

glue jeans

Is it innovative to glue jeans instead of sewing? It is, indeed. Is it a better way? As a classic jeans lover, I can't say it's my taste. To me, a good pairs of jeans gets its personality not only by its wash but also by its style of stitching, such as thread color, thickness, way of stitching etc. That's me, though...I am just wondering if this glue is strong enough to keep jeans together even after hard washing with chemicals...As far as I can see from their website, it's handmade on raw denim. Then here comes the second question: What will happen to the brand when raw denim is not as trendy? And do we really want to stay apart from our favorite pair of jeans after 2 years just because glue's life is over?

One Shoulder Dresses

Whilst most of the ladies wearing one-shouldered gowns rested on their right hand shoulders, Katie Holmes dress stood out amongst the trend by resting on her left shoulder.

New Trend-Pearl necklace

I don’t know if it is just me, but wearing white pearl necklace with black dress is supposed to be popular. As we see on the celebrities, we are right about this trend.

Hey, don't worry! If you don't have a black dress you can wear your pearl necklace with a different color of dress. Like Mischa Barton...

photoshop disasters

http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/ is a great blog who are interested in what it could be like when Photoshop creations might end up when the creative person gets bored:) Photoshop is normally used to enhance the images of models and celebrities to make them look pretty and hard. However, sometimes even million budget ad campaings might look very funny at the end of Photoshop. Below, are samples...
No no, this isn't possible..This woman seems too normal to have such a big hand!...
Since when models get operated to get rid of their bellybuttons?!

Come on Chanel...Stop playing with models' natural looks..Believe me, they look more normal when they have a natural looking of their arms.

Poor Christina...You must work reaaly hard to be able to hide your weird looking finger, huh?

Nope..I won't comment on alien-models...

Probably, Clive Owen didn't recognize himself on Lancome ad,either...

new reality series on the web

"In a new effort to attract a younger audience and capture marketing dollars that are increasingly going to the Web, Vogue magazine has teamed with the fashion and media divisions of IMG to produce an elaborate Web-based reality series about the fashion industry."

The show, called Model.Live, depicts the lives of three models who navigate around catwalks for fashion weeks in New York, Milan, Paris and London. It will be possible to buy any of the clothes they are wearing by clicking at anytime. It will be possible to see the first of 12 eight minutes episode in August on Vogue.tv.

"Model.Live is the latest example of interactive entertainment tailor-made for the Web by marketers trying to reach younger, tech-savvy audiences. Advertisers in the U.S. are expected to spend $1.35 billion on video Web ads this year, almost double the amount spent in 2007, according to research firm eMarketer. Videos are the fastest-growing online-ad format, though the growth comes from a small base.

Silk Denim-Naked&Famous

Dressy jeans are only a silk thread away with Naked & Famous Denim. The hand-dyed, raw Japanese fabric contains 30% silk! (67% Cotton, 30% Silk, 3% Elastane). This particular blend is exclusive to Naked & Famous Denim as they developed the silk denim together with the mill in Japan

Naked & Famous Denim uses only the most unique and rare denim fabrics from Japan. The prestigious mill in Japan, from which they import all their fabric, is committed to producing only the best (and most expensive) denim in the world. Throughout each step in denim production (weaving, dyeing, finishing…) the mill uses a combination of old school and modern methods and practices. So much culture and history is poured into the fabric so that it can be appreciated by the denim purist.

The brand name, Naked & Famous, is a satire of our celeb-obsessed culture, and pokes fun at “Hollywood” and “Glamour” brands that sell jeans for $300 and up solely because Jessica Simpson wears them and not because they are higher quality. Brilliant!

Every pair of Naked & Famous jeans are proudly and ethically Made in Canada.

Good Night!

I think it will be better than now after you start to sleep with these duvets and pillowcases. They are very cute. If you like animals , and you wanna see them all aorund of you, don't worry! Lifemodern’s new bedding doesn’t exactly achieve the entire presence of real animals, but it’s very close, and definitely more sophisticated. The black and white pillowcases and duvets are printed with hand-drawn animal graphics.

There are lots of alternatives for you. If you want, you can make mix and match with them. The price for them is around $290.00.

Let's have fun:)

Kid Robot

Founded by designer Paul Budnitz in 2002, Kidrobot is the world’s premier designer and retailer of limited edition art toys and apparel. Kidrobot merges urban street trends, fashion, and pop art to produce limited edition, collectible toys and apparel. Kidrobot products feature unique collaborations with top international artists with backgrounds as diverse as graffiti, fine art, fashion, industrial design, graphic design, illustration, and music.

Facebook just started an application called Nu Rave. It drops day-glo sunglasses onto your friends pages, and it's basically just insane - but it makes you smile and immediately want to share.

The same might be said for Kid Robot's upcoming ready-to-wear line, which takes the brand's trademark hoodies and graphics, and spins them into a full collection of shirts, dresses, ties, jewelry... really, it's like a small department store absorbed electric Kool-Aid and threw a party.

Now you are gonna see some enjoyable mix and match below...

doctor fish

A new trend for beauty and health industries is on the horizon. By using their powerful sucking lips (they have no teeth), doctor fish completely get rid of dead and calloused skin on human body. During the process of fish treatment, fish can completely get rid of skin smear and aging cortex. They also can make your pore unobstructed to promote blood circulation.
As seen on Tyra Bank's show, Yvonne Hair and Nails from Virginia uses this treatment for natural way of pedicure. Treatment costs $50 for 30 minutes treatment. For some, it might be a new experiment, for others, "such a weird feeling..."
